Description
This VM is based on the same code as the original Nextcloud VM. In the same way as our other VMs, this also auto-updates to the latest version upon first boot when running the setup script. This VM is pre-installed with a 2 TB ZFS formatted drive for the data which is mounted on a separate volume in the VM for easier management and backup. The file is in. OVA format for installation in VMware and VirtualBox. The file size is around 2 GB before it’s extracted.

Installed it on QNAP 451+ with Virtualization Station 3.
At first I had some problems with the script, but Hansson IT fixed it and I had a successful automated installation and a ready to go virtual Nextcloud Server running.
Before I tried a lot of methods to bring Nextcloud to QNAP … qpkg-packages, Docker-Container, manual installation with Qapache, but they all had problems with stability and filesynchronization to the NAS.
But now everything works perfect.
I have a stable 2 TB Virtual Ubuntu Server that’s stores the Nextcloud files direct in its filesystem and it is independent from the QNAP OS.
And I can make Snapshots of the Virtual Ubuntu Server with the QNAP Virtual Station.
The programming is very good work and the price is worth it …
Greetings
Helmut
